I don’t know Brady all that well, but I got to hang out with him a bit the other night when we attended Josh’s speech on Ben Franklin and Web 2.0, then had some drinks afterward. Brady, a fan himself, pointed out the Moleskine notebook I’d brought along. It was my first Moleskine, the first scratchpad I genuinely loved, and it contained, as all brand-name notebooks are required to, Very Important Things. At some point in the evening, it vanished. Was it at a bar? On a street corner? At a bus stop? In a cab? Who knows. All I know is, Brady was there, notebooks were discussed, and…poof. Now, I’m not saying he’s some kind of malevolent Moleskine Midas who turns your writing into dust instead of gold. No, I’m just telling a story, a factual one, about Brady. He’s a nice guy and all, but BEWARE.
jake is the spam queen and used to look alot more like that guy from simply red than his picture would indicate.
Todd and i had seen each other a couple of times at the Robot Coop, but had never really spoken. We got drinks together after ideaday.org and i learned that he and i disagreed on the recently passed smoking ban.
I met merlin in the airport after etech2005. we had wine. he gave me a demo of Quiksilver and we realized that we had a mutual acquaintance in Josh Rosenfeld. he had a ton of energy and i hope to see him again at this upcoming etech.
I want to meet him because the only person on his list was umberto eco and I thought that was wonderful.
Justin and i met his first day at msn search. the talk quickly fell to BM and from there i learned he was a space virgin, so it probably was just a matter of time before i met him anyway.
I took a job at Microsoft and inherited a team of folks. Brady was on the team, and I kept him on it. He helped develop Newsbot which shipped in 2002 and Blogbot which has been ready to go for 3 years now but has never shipped. Brady is a good people.
